Closed Blog

Now that bloggers are getting into physical fights and so forth I have decided to close my blog. I always looked up to the friendship of the G-Vegas crew and it reminded me of my friends back home. But this is lame so I have closed my blog. The G-Vegas break-up was the straw that broke The Rooster’s back. Thanks for all the memories ya'll.

Pictures of the Homies like I promised. A few of these guys you won't find around anymore and a few you will find in Folsom, but they are my crew and I miss those fools. Treat your brother's with respect because in the end they are your brother's and they might be gone tomorrow....CHURCH!

Last WSOP Event

I remember calling Bill Rini about a possible sponsor for the last Vegas event. He was of course kind to my submission but gave me the big facial (like Shaq in the paint, but in a very nice way and pointed out facts to me about why he was saying no). Of course I don’t always agree with Bill Rini and I tend always catch what he’s saying like 3 months down the road. Sorry, I’m short sighted like that sometimes and don’t grab the aspects or details of things at the first glance, I have to recount them in my head some time after to see the full picture. But what I have learned from dealing with Bill is that he tends to be a few steps ahead of the curve in his thinking about things and has a good thought out response to my crazy suggestions. That’s not to say that I still don’t have my doubts about online poker being rigged...heehee!

So where am I going with this whole thing? Well I have gotten to know many bloggers over the years and many who are too smart for their own good, many writers who are tortured souls (I love them the best...to see them stew in their misery is great…sorry, it’s true), many artists (both actors and stage producers) who grind it out in life and on the felt, and just regular folks who enjoy talking and writing about poker.

Me, I’m just a dork who pounds stupid crap out on this keyboard and heads to AC to get bad beat over and over...live poker is rigged.

But today it hit me of how much a funk our community was in. One, DP got the boot from his current job and is now forced to find job within the company in two weeks, Otis is trying to find himself (he’s a writer...read above), and the whole Joe Speaker break-up.

But today what has got me in a sad state is the whole Iggy throwing his last tournament for the WSOP. There is this classic picture of Joe Speaker, Otis, Bobby, and Easycure (forgetting one person here) and they have this huge smile on their face with Otis holding the hamma before the first event of the WSOP last year. Now it will be Gracie (my favorite girl from FL...sorry Pablo, don't blast me) with only one other person representing the community and to that I have to say, big fucken BOOOOOOO!!!

Well I tried to talk Iggy out of this like I have tried to talk Bill Rini into my crazy ideas. To no avail, I guess some people are just ahead of me curve wise. So with that said, join the last WSOP Tourney thrown by the Little Guy who first pimped my blog and who has pimped so many other blogs over the years. I lift and drink a warm Guinness for this event and will be drinking while playing in honor of the “Little Person” and friend, Iggyman!!

In closing, I do have a 10.00 bounty if you knock me out, but you won't...read below post. I'm doing this solo like after Tony Killed Monolo (Manny). Then I will be sitting like this:

Freeroll With Dutch

So much to write and I’m way behind on my blogs (all three of them).

I just wanted to inform you all that Dutch Boyd started a new rake free site and he’s having a freeroll for bloggers. Yes, Dutch from The Crew is having the free roll on his new site and all you have to do is post his banner. A first time deposit on his site of 1,000.00 bucks and you will be automatically signed up with proof of your blog for the main event free roll. There is no guarantee as to how long this site will be up and running and it’s a crap shoot in terms of cashing out, but it’s a free roll and you can become an honorary member of The Crew.

I checked out Dutch’s background and the guy is a genius and seems pretty solid on his business principals. I do encourage all bloggers to show up to the event!!

Please only read this and follow on April 1st.

Bounty!!

I just wanted to tell you all that Iggy is having a tournament this coming week at Stars and I’m going to smoke all you bitches! Sorry, but I’ve had it with bloggers complaining about bad beats and shit. Serious, I’m bringing the pain and if you want to show and try and outplay me that is fine, but you won’t. I hate to get Braw-lick here, but it’s time you get my A game. Nobody is going to stop me from winning MY seat to the WSOP this coming week…did you hear? Nuff said. I just did 10 quick push-ups to show you I’m serious. I’m even going to put a 10 dollar bounty on my head if you are to knock me out…nuff said. Tell me this…who else is man enough to put a bounty on their head? None of you all. Nuff said.

RANT!!!

WTF people? I’m a bit pissed that not many people have signed up for the tournament this weekend. I thought this year might be the first year that we see a blogger at a WSOP Final Table. Yet we can’t get enough bloggers to sign up to send someone this year to the WSOP? I think we as a community have gone to shit. I’m being dead serious here. Last year we had four bloggers in the first event alone…God, please someone not let Bobby Bracelet win because we will have to hear it forever and ever…what happens if he gets to the final table and wins it all…Dear God, I wonder can you save me? In any case, so many tournaments are going on now why don’t we consolidate them to send more than one blogger per event. I think we sent two people from one tournament last year. I don’t care what type of game it is. If it’s six handed tournament…then have the winner enter the six handed event. If it’s a razz tournament have the winner go play the Razz event. This thing is coming up on us and before you know it we will be packing the bags to Vegas and it would be great if I knew some of the community was playing in a few events. I can’t even see my horse in Razz play (F-Train) because I will be in NYC. I would love to check Pauly’s site and read his updates about a blogger at the final table…in the back of my mind I will have some of my money on that table. Not really…but kind of. Thus, maybe we can just have all the events now send someone to the WSOP…have these count towards the point race for the WPBT all around player champion (which I got knocked out of for no points the last event…Boooooooooooo!). In any case, I’m not sure how to work these things out but we should have at least 10 bloggers playing in events this coming year…will you be one of them? I can still see everyone there last year getting ready to play with huge smiles on their faces. OK so whoever the big cheeses are please try and do something so we can send as many people as possible. Shit, Daddy might even win and wear his: “Blogs Are So Gay” shirt.

VOTE!!!!

Often as I’m walking down the street here in NYC I’m stopped by average everyday New Yorkers and this is what they say, “Hey, I love your blog.” Yeah, I know, I know, being a celebrity isn’t easy my friends. But I figure fan stopping The Rooster isn’t a bad thing for I’m not one of those guys saying, I don’t want to be a role model like so many pro athletes. Nope, I extend my hand and say hello. You know, I give them a smile and sign an autograph or two. It’s just how I roll.

Now I was looking at AMNEWYORK (a small morning paper here in NYC for the many fans worldwide who might not know) and they are having a contest about the best blogs in NYC. I have won so many damn awards and stuff that this doesn’t seem important to me…thus, if you want to support some fellow bloggers here are the ones I’m voting for. Not that I’m trying to tell you who to vote for or anything.

Pauly

– He is one of the oldest blogs I have read and I call him the Rock Star of NYC Bloggers. Him some Dwarf and some hippie rocker guy have been on my list from the get go. But The Tao is a funny mix of NYC with the world. Follow this guy as he travels around the word and to every borough here in NYC…visit both his sites when you have the chance.

CityGurl

– What a champ she is. A crossword, karate chopping, beer drinking, looking for love in the city type of girl, and did I mention that she’s cute to boot!!

Little Vamp – Little Vampy is sick now but she’s trying to get better so we can meet up to eat at some of the finer and not so finer things and places here in NYC. If you know of a hole in the wall that you love the chances are the Vampy has been there.

AliKat

– Some new girl to the blog world. I love her rants and you have to smile at the wide range of crazy stuff she writes. Her first post on your blog is by far one of the better posts this year.

The view written above are that and those of “The Rooster” and are law. Thus, if you don’t vote please let me know so I can send you a pound of horse crap from my ranch back in California. Nuff said.

Black and White

I have always loved the arts in NYC. Although I was never exposed much to them as a child, I did really come to appreciate them over time. Much of that appreciation comes from the streets of NYC and just walking around seeing people and their art. When I compare NYC to other states and places I have visited, NYC has tons more street art than most.

So I’m walking to catch my bus to go play some cards and I see this guy who is talking pictures of everyday NYC people. I decided to venture in and take a picture and this is what came about.

The artist name is Alex Berg and the project he was working on was titled “One Shot New York” and will be turned into a book sometime soon. I also hear that some of his pictures will be showing up in DKNY in NYC. I’m not sure if my picture will make the cut, but I think it should because I have my Nueva York shirt on and I have a cock in my hand…haha! Yes, I knew that joke was coming. But in all honesty, Alex had this small room where all his magic happened. It was odd because if you look at all the pictures it’s hard to believe that they were all taken in such a small room.

I was very impressed by the whole process and how Alex walked me through the whole pose and so forth. To be honest, I was a bit jealous that I’m not an artist and just a hack at the keyboard. But if you do want to find out more about the artist and his work you can visit here:

DP Goes All In...Best Of Luck!!!

After years of wondering and wondering a lot...it’s not true. DonkeyPuncher has announced that he’s having a kid with his wife. Yet, you have to wonder because the hair is so perfect. Head on over and wish DP a congratulations.

Mr. Gordon Parks Nov. 30, 1912 - March 7, 2006

We lost a giant in the world of the arts today, Mr. Gordon Parks. I have never been an artist, a writer, or a film producer in any way so I'm no expert. Yet, I very much loved the work of the man. He was a soft spoken man when I would see him interviewed and like many artists his mind always seemed to be working inside on something deeper while speaking. He had so much grace about him and always humble about what he accomplished. Something that is hard to find today in this world of self-righteous artists, but when it came to conquering the arts he was the real deal.

In closing, it is my humble opinion that Gordon Parks was the greatest all around artist of the last century. For that alone you should be willing read up on the man and his works. He was a giant…RIP Gordon
