Return From Vegas

Oh Vegas…how do I love thee! Let me count the ways! You leave me broke, half dead, morally questionable, partied out, and lacking brain cells, but I continue to flock to you and sacrifice my body and soul to the party gods. It’s like a dysfunctional relationship that you know is no good for you, but you just can’t stay away from. Vegas is the wife beater of vacation destinations.

My good friend Tarah sent me the above quote on her return from Vegas. I thought I would use it for my return trip report. Sure my report is coming like three weeks after I was in Sin City. Since then I have been to two other states including Atlanta, Ga. for the Final Four which was cool. But this is a poker blog so why not start with a bad beat story...I kid, I kid.

No there wasn't much in the way of poker to be honest. I played at the MGM and it was a good time there as always. I sometimes think if someone wanted to they could make a good little side living playing at the 4/8 tables at this place. Serious! Also, don't forget how nice and soft the 1/2 no-limit tables are. They are as wild as card rooms here in NYC. I have been making a nice little profit playing in those card rooms but the wildness of the game still rattles me a bit. As most of you know, I'm not a no-limit player. But my no-limit game has been improving so I thought I would give the MGM a shot. Needless to say there were a lot of people blasting away there and it makes me wonder where these people get their money.

In any case, lame ass report but I just wanted to get back to writing a bit. It has been a while since I have written here and I apologize. I have just been putting my own company together and I hope to be landing my first contract by the end of this month and that was the big announcement I mentioned a few weeks back. I'm starting my own little company...nothing much to be honest, it is a one man operation called: The Rooster Consulting. Where our saying is, We Swing Our Cock So You Don't Have To. It is kind of strange being your own boss soon...but it is what it is. Take care all.

Odds-Ends and Another Great Post

I was reading my local town paper back in California when I read this .article and I thought you all might want to read it.

Also, I got the chance at work to read another great POST that was a reaction to the post Ms. Otis put up a few day ago which you can find HERE. I'm sure that a lot of people have had similar experiences in their life and just didn't know how to talk about it or maybe they just kept it inside. Yet, these two people will take you on such an emotional ride that one feels like having a smoke after. Serious, I felt like having a smoke and I don't even smoke. I'm just amazed at these stories and how people have the courage to put themselves out there like that. Wow!

In closing, I'm sorry I have been screwing up and not posting. I guess there is just a lot on my plate these days but I should be back to multi-daily posts soon

Pimpin' Mrs. Otis (with no disrespect to the Otis clan)

It has been a while since I have read a post that has really touched me. Something that has made me say...holly crap! Something that has really moved me to the point where I'm not so much in tears, but more in awe of someone putting themselves out there.

Thus, if you really want to read something moving you might want to hit Mrs. Otis and you will see where Mr. Otis got his writing SKILLZ. Here we were thinking that Otis was the best writer in that household...but I'm starting to wonder. I will say this, if you ever read the moving post about Otis and playing cards with his father which you can findHERE I know that Mrs. Otis will move you with her post.

It Has Been A While

I just thought I would post a few pictures. I forgot about my big announcement and all that jazz that I said I was going to bring you. I've been in a crunch as of late at work but I will make sure and get back to you on all the details soon. Until then I hope you won't be too disappointed with a few photos.

Just a couple of pictures of girls that I know. One of course I met through my Uncle Joe and the other one is a friend that I got the chance to play some cards with. Enjoy!
